At Languages on Fire, our mission is to create the world’s best language learning materials. We were dissatisfied with existing German courses so we decided to create our own: A course which is truly based on word frequency and focuses on what’s essential. We enable you to have conversations in German as early as possible. If you want to move to Germany but are unable to invest countless hours in studying German, this course is for you. It also includes our popular Anki deck which was created for this course. Still unsure? Lesson 1 is available for free, try it out! Study with Languages on Fire and ignite your language learning powers!
Frequently Asked Questions
Will I really be conversational after completing the course?
Yes! People who complete our course usually have a solid B1 level. This means you can talk about a wide range of topics and communicate effectively with people in Germany. We enable you to have real-life conversations with native speakers!
Why shouldn’t I use a free course like Duolingo?
We don’t recommend apps like Duolingo since they don’t make good use of your study time due to the extreme level of gamification. Also, we think their repetition system is subpar since they don’t have an option to integrate Anki. They don’t consider word frequency lists either and you have little control of what lessons you want to study. But if you’re a fan of a particular app, you can use it alongside Languages on Fire of course.
How much time will I need to complete the course?
This depends on how much time you want to invest. With 20-30 minutes a day, most people are able to finish it in about 3 months.
I’ve never used Anki before. Is this product something for me?
Certainly! Using Anki is relatively straightforward. Once you get used to Anki, you won’t want to miss it for language learning.
Is this course suitable for absolute beginners?
Definitely! You start with the basics, and the difficulty increases gradually.
Is this course suitable for advanced learners?
Certainly! Since you have full control of the course, you can simply start at a later lesson. As far as the Anki deck is concerned, you can simply delete the cards of the previous lessons. If you’re already at a B2 level or above, this course is not ideal for you. Read here how to continue studying instead.
